The Continuing Resolution fight and the next two years.

The Continuing Resolution fight last week is good look into the next two years.

The original 1500 page cramibus CR was defeated. Not by a post from Elon Musk. Not by the Freedom Caucus or any other specific Republican in congress. It was defeated by We the People speaking, loudly and clearly.

Many including President Trump spoke out against the original 1500 page CR. It was never even brought for a vote.

The Democrats freaked out over the withdrawal of the original CR. No wonder it contained protections for the J6 committee, reauthorized a major portion of the censorship industrial complex and of course contained billions in spending on their priorities.

Congresswoman Rosa Delauro laminating the non-passage of the 1500 page pork filled CR. BTW she has been in congress since 1991 and been present for every penny of the 36 trillion in debt that's been racked up.

The second round was much improved and the final version was somewhat less improved in my opinion.

The final version contained

Extend spending authority until March 14, 2025.

30.7 billion for Agricultural aid.

30.5 billion for disaster relief, regarding Hurricanes Milton and Helene.

Funding to replace the Francis Scott Key bridge.

Funding for other items as well, such as defense and Veterans

What was not in the CR was a raising of the debt ceiling. This was an item that Trump asked for. Why did he ask for it ? Tax cuts.

Let me explain why.

The way the federal government accounts for tax cuts is as if they are spending. This is not reality but it is the way the money is accounted for. For this reason, the debt ceiling must be raised if there are to be the tax cuts that Trump campaigned on. Otherwise we risk a default on the debt.

The debt ceiling was suspended in 2023 until Jan 1 2025. This is why we have so much debt right now. There were no controls on spending once it passed.

The U.S. Congress voted to suspend the debt ceiling through a bill known as the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023. Here's a breakdown of the vote:

  • House of Representatives: The bill passed with a vote of 314-117 on May 31, 2023.

    • 149 Republicans and 165 Democrats voted in favor of the bill.

    • 71 Republicans and 46 Democrats voted against it.

    • Four members did not vote.

  • Senate: The Senate passed the bill with a vote of 63-36 on June 1, 2023.

    • 17 Republicans, 45 Democrats, and 2 Democratic-leaning independents voted for it.

    • 31 Republicans, 4 Democrats, and 1 independent voted against it.

The debt ceiling of the purpose of tax cuts will have to be addressed. After that, there should not be any need to raise it.

Business as usual is over.

We have seen this with the nomination process, especially regarding Pete Hefseth. When he was nominated for Secretary of Defense, the media pounced. Labeling him as dangerous and unqualified. Several Republican Senators picked up that rhetoric. A whisper campaign to stop him began. Then We spoke up. If the threat to primary sitting Senators who opposed Pete Hegseth were only from "influencers" then it would have failed.

Here we are, at the beginning of a great American revival. The potential in the American middle class is ginormous. To ensure that potential is realized, we need to remain engaged. No longer can we go back to ignoring politics. We cannot leave it others.

The fight will not be over on January 20th. In many ways it will only be beginning. It will will be up to us to support President Trump, his appointees and see America Made Great again.

According to reptilian Janet Yellen (Sec Treas and another Obama zombie) the economy will collapse Jan 14th when she, Janet the Lizard, defaults on US debt causing worldwide bank failure. So ha ha, take that Trump, the Commitards plan to sabotage America in the throat before he is sworn in.
